But yeah, as I ate the nuggets, I kept going on thinking I’d get a big whallop of garlic, but it wasn’t really there.Īlso, I was amazed that this sauce didn’t have any kind of tomato in it. I must say, at least I wasn’t punched by a sour/bitter vinegar bite. As I ate the nuggets, I continued really trying to find it, but it wasn’t entirely there. I was sort of expecting a big garlic hit, which I don’t know if I really got. And, eeeh… it was just kinda… it’s not what I was expecting, really. That’s usually how I get my first taste of many sauces. When I first poured the sauce on the wings, some got on the threads of the bottle, which I wiped off with my finger and then tried the sauce. It soaked pretty quick into the breading on the nuggets and a bit ran off the side.Īs for the flavor, I have to say, it kinda grew on me. It’s almost like orange juice with pulp, but like, a bit extra pulp and the bit of seeds that are in there as well. Pouring it on the nuggets, it is a very loose sauce. As I’ve mentioned above, I’m not a fan of the flavor of vinegar and the sour/bitter vinegar bite it gives. I’m surprised by the amount of water and the amount of vinegar in there. Salt, garlic powder, turmeric, and black pepper. After that, we have regular vinegar… Why do we need more vinegar? Oh well. Next is garlic puree, which is garlic and water (more water?). Considering my original thoughts on the original version of The Classic (the classic The Classic?) were, “this is good, but too much vinegar,” it should be good. That tends to be less harsh than distilled vinegar. Not generally known for its flavor, but it’s not like we’ve never seen it in a sauce before. That means, we start with the ingredients. Let’s give this one a more thorough going-over. Looking back… yeah, it’s easy to tell that I originally started by typing these up on my phone just to post on my Facebook page for my friends. So, as I linked to above, this is a new version of The Classic, which was the first sauce I ever reviewed. So, throwing those two together? Yes, please. The story behind it is that they were making up a batch, but it ended up having 10x as much garlic as it was supposed to. In fact, it’s a new take on their The Classic hot sauce. It’s a new sauce from Hot Ones and their collection of sauces. They’d told us this one was coming, and I was ready for it. I got it in my latest Heatonist Subscription Box. I just finished up a post- D&D pan of chicken nuggets and I was excited about this one. It’s time once again for a hot sauce review. ![]()
